Ready to Schedule
Once you’re ready to schedule your session with Jessica Leigh Photography,
» complete your session questionnaire.
For family sessions, instead of selecting a specific session date, you’ll select your preferred season. All maternity and newborn sessions are scheduled according to the baby’s due date.
Within 48 hours of receiving your session questionnaire, I’ll follow up with a copy of the agreement, which repeats all of the session policies. I’ll also provide a few open session dates to select.
To finalize your session date,
» read and sign the final agreement and,
» pay your $150 + tax session deposit invoice.
Timing of Sessions
My outdoor sessions occur approximately 1.5-2 hours prior to sunset or 1 hour after sunrise. This fluctuates every day of the year, so we’ll determine the best time based on the weather, sun, and any schedule restrictions.
Newborn sessions occur in your home and the best light tends to be 10:30-1pm most days of the year. I will arrive by 10:30am and we’ll begin shooting at 10:45am.
I take a limited number of clients each month, so it’s important to coordinate a date for your session early. I always hold a few spots per month for newborns, since their arrival is often unpredictable.
» Maternity sessions are best between weeks 32-36.
» Newborn sessions are best between 7 and 28 days after birth.
» Children are perfect to photograph at any age!
» An annual family session is perfect for a growing family and every month of the year has wonderful benefits such as blooming flowers in spring or pops of warm color in fall.
Final Balance Due
The final balance of your session fee ($400 + tax) is due prior to your session. You’ll receive an invoice approximately two (2) weeks prior to your session date. If the invoice is not paid by the time of your session, payment is due via cash or credit card (no checks) prior to shooting. I process all credit card payments through Square.
To gain the most out of your session, have everyone rested, fed, and hydrated—including the adults! It’s important for stress levels to be low or non-existent as I strive to capture very natural emotions and activities.
Length of Sessions
» Family and Maternity sessions last approximately one hour.
» Newborn sessions last approximately two hours, with many feeding/changing breaks in between.
Maternity & Newborn Session
Your maternity session takes place outdoors just before sunset. We’ll treat it as a family session if older children are involved, but will spend extra time on mama and baby-coming-soon!
Newborn sessions take place in your home. If there’s an opportunity prior to our session to easily clear clutter from your master bedroom and the nursery, please do so. Otherwise, I request permission to do it for you! When I arrive, I’ll survey your home to find the best areas for natural light, but the master bedroom and nursery are my most-often used rooms in the home. However, don’t be surprised if I choose an improbable location or two – it’s all about the light!
It’s also important your bundle of love is well-fed, changed, and warm, but perfection isn’t critical in a lifestyle session. We’ll go with the flow!
Family Session
Children need the opportunity to run around to their heart’s desire while Mom and Dad relax and interact as naturally as possible. Simply love on your babies and each other and let me do the rest!
Family sessions are one word: FUN! I promise we aren’t seeking perfection here. If everyone shows up with their own vibe and I capture it on camera, it’s a win!
For young children who may not have a long attention span, try bringing bubbles, snacks or special toys. Bring lots of wipes and an extra set of clothing just in case. Most importantly, bring your fun, love, and patience.
Receiving Your Images
At least 75 unique, high resolution digital images in both color and black and white are delivered electronically via download from an online, password-protected gallery within 2-3 weeks from the session date.
Receiving Your Album
If you’re receiving a custom album, it’s fulfilled monthly and hand-delivered. Jessica Leigh Photography will confirm the specific delivery date when your digital image gallery is sent.
Provide Feedback
Feedback from my clients is an extremely valuable tool for me to ensure high quality service. You’ll receive a survey request approximately two (2) weeks after I deliver your gallery or album. I would be so grateful if you’d provide feedback on your experience with me from day 1. Only by hearing from my clients will I be able to provide the best results to you year after year! Spoiler alert: I want you in front of my lens for life!
